The Macmillan and Citizens Advice Bureau Partnership

The Partnership involves collaboration with all nine Citizens Advice Bureau in Lanarkshire in a service managed by Airdrie Citizens Advice Bureau. Its purpose is to introduce an advice service to cover the whole of Lanarkshire, meeting the information needs of people affected by cancer on issues such as benefits, debt, employment and housing.

Macmillan Cancer Relief

The research undertaken for Macmillan ' s review of it's corporate strategy identified financial advice for people affected by cancer as an enormous black hole into which a distressing number of cancer patients and their families unfortunately slide. Providing schemes to bridge this gap is a key part of what we aim to do in the next few years.

Citizens Advice Bureau
All Citizens Advice Bureau work "to ensure that individuals do not suffer through lack of knowledge of their rights and responsibilities, or of the services available to them, or through an inability to express their need effectively." They also aim to "exercise a responsible influence on the development of social policies and services both locally and nationally."
