Equipment for the Home

Many cancer patients living in their own homes may at some stage require medical equipment as part of their treatment process or just to make life around the house a little easier.

In most cases, your need for equipment will be assessed by your Social Worker, your District Nurse or, if you have been in hospital, by your Discharge Team as part of your discharge plan. The equipment will be ordered on your behalf, generally from our store in Motherwell, and delivered to your home, normally within 5 days. If you fall into this category and have any queries about your equipment, please contact your social worker, District Nurse or hospital as appropriate.

If you have been prescribed oxygen by your GP, it is available from designated local chemists. If you are not sure where these are, contact your GP's surgery and they will be able to tell you.

If you are in the position where you think you could benefit from some equipment in your home but dont know who to contact please visit the Accessing Equipment for the Home section.
