Accessing Equipment

If you feel you could benefit from having equipment in your home but don't know how to access it or if you are entitled to it, there are a number of things you can do.

For most people, the first port of call is their district nurse or social worker either of whom will be happy to discuss your requirements and can assess and refer you for equipment if they feel it is appropriate.

Alternatively, if you are resident in North Lanarkshire, you can contact Support and Advice for Independent Living (SAIL) directly. SAIL is a joint equipment and advice service provided by North Lanarkshire Council and NHS Lanarkshire which provides the majority of home loan equipment throughout Lanarkshire. (at this time there is no South Lanarkshire equivalent.

SAIL have a whole range of independent living equipment on display for you to try out as well as equipment advisors on hand to give guidance and help you make an informed choice.

For more information about SAIL including full contact details, please visit the SAIL
web pages
provided by North Lanarkshire Council. (A new window will open when you click on the link. Just close or minimise it to reurn to this page)
