Hospitals, GP & Community Services

The Mobile Cancer Information Service will be operating in the Clydesdale LHCC area from February 2005. An experienced Cancer Nurse will be travelling on the 'CATCH IT' bus daily.

Almost 1 in 4 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. A diagnosis of cancer is an individual experience; some people may feel alone and frightened, whereas others may 'appear' to cope.

We aim to provide a local service where people can come and access information via the internet or leaflets on a range of cancer topics. Alternatively speak to the Cancer Information Nurse and discuss any worries in private.

This initiative will also increase public awareness of exisitng services and agencies involved in Cancer Care in Clydesdale.

Big Lottery Fund, South Lanarkshire Council, NHS Lanarkshire and Leader Plus jointly fund this project.
