Why is there a group specifically for lung cancer patients

A diagnosis of cancer usually represents a crisis in the lives of both lung cancer patIents and their families. Coping successfully calls for new information and skIlls. Groups can help you learn these skills, while providing the companionship of others who can offer genuine understanding and support based on shared experience. A diagnosis, and subsequent treatment for lung cancer , poses special challenges, which are best addressed in a group specifically for lung cancer patients, their families and friends.
