FURTHER INFORMATION FOR CALLERS

If the caller does not come under any of the areas covered by the above services, advise them to contact their GP surgery in the first instance to find out about smoking cessation support offered. The Practice Nurse should be able to advise, although Reception Staff will know if there is a member of staff who may be able to offer help. In surgeries where there is no Practice Nurse, patients should make an appointment with their General Practitioner, who will be able to advise them of the support available.

Pharmacies – all pharmacies will be able to offer brief one-to-one advice on smoking cessation and nicotine replacement therapies.

NATIONAL HELPLINE

Smokeline also offers advice and support to smokers by calling Freephone number 0800 84 84 84 (noon to midnight)
